Tierra Verde Real Estate & Homes for Sale in Florida

Imagine spending your days on white sandy beaches accompanied by sunshine nearly every day of the year, and the clean sapphire waters of the Gulf of Mexico. It all sounds like paradise, and indeed it is, but owning your own slice of paradise is easier than you think. Welcome to Tierra Verde, an island along the west coast of Florida, where Tampa Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico, at the southern tip of the Pinellas County peninsula.

For hundreds of years, people have relished the beauty and perfection of this area. In 1513, Spanish explorers led by Ponce de Leon arrived in the area. It wasn’t until the later part of the 1950's that Tierra Verde was developed into the island community that it is today. An unincorporated community, Tierra Verde is managed by residents through a community association. Although both St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach have bid for its annexation, Tierra Verde has voted to stay independent and unincorporated and remains so.

Tierra Verde is mainly composed of upscale condominiums, townhomes, waterfront estates and luxury homes. Lovers of sun-filled recreation and relaxation will find their haven here. If fishing, golfing or boating are not your type of adventure, you can easily find an excellent spot for sunbathing, seek out one of the area’s quaint shops, or explore Fort De Soto Park. If you are ever interested in leaving your island paradise for some urban excitement, Tierra Verde is only 15 minutes to St. Petersburg and 35 minutes to downtown Tampa.
